Survival Log Items: The Complete Inventory Guide (2026)

Survival Log item families are Food, Materials, Furniture, Tools, and Defense. These are used to hoard supplies before disaster, then sustain your safehouse and fend off hordes. Official prices are TBD — only the discount launch price ($9.34) is confirmed.

Item Families: The Short Answer

Every item in Survival Log falls into five categories. Food covers all edible goods, including ingredients for cooking. Materials are raw resources for crafting barricades, tools, and upgrades. Furniture provides storage and utility boosts. Tools speed up gathering or unlock new actions. Defense items protect your safehouse from zombies.

Exact shop prices are not publicly confirmed — official sources only mention the base game price. We mark any cost as TBD in the table below.

Food: Variety and Cooking

You need 20+ different food types for the "Well-Stocked Pantry" achievement. Food is bought from supermarkets, hardware stores, and farmers' markets during the 10-hour pre-disaster phase. After the disaster, you cook meals to keep Satiety and Morale above 80.

Use the fridge filter to sort items by type or spoilage. Cooking meals unlocks "Fire It Up" (first meal) and "A Good Meal" (10 perfect dishes). Seeds from neighbors can be planted indoors for a "Green Thumb" (24 potted plants).

Key Food Facts

Farming (Student character) boosts crop yields. Perfect dishes produce bonus stats, but timing is critical — the "Midnight Kitchen" achievement requires cooking at 3 AM. Leftovers can be stored, but watch your total inventory cap.

August 19-22 Patches: New Recipes, Trading Tabs & the Ration Press

The 8/22 update adds the Ration Press furniture: examine the paper pile in the abandoned hospital to unlock the recipe, then pour food in to compress it into concentrated rations — flavor depends on ingredient type, nutrition is lower but they are very filling, which helps for long trips and the final horde.

The 8/20 update added three new dishes you can cook on cooking appliances: Sauced Duck, Enoki Mushroom Beef, and Tomato Beef. The 8/19 update added Refrigerator and Tool Cabinet tabs to the Drone trading panel, so you can trade directly with materials stored at Home instead of moving them to your inventory first. The 8/20 collection expansion also adds 12 new capturable prey types and counts gift-pack foods toward your collection after opening.

New Rotten Meat Bait (August 26 Update)

The August 26 official update added three Rotten Meat bait tiers: Rotten Meat Strips, Rotten Meat Chunks and Rotten Meat Steaks. They can rarely appear while exploring ruins or repelling zombie hordes. Throw a bait through a door or window to summon a zombie wave; the crisis bar shows a countdown, and larger bait attracts more zombies. Exact drop rates and wave counts remain TBD because the official notes do not publish them.

Do not throw Rotten Meat until your safehouse defenses are ready: the official notes explicitly say larger bait attracts more zombies.

September 2 Update: Cooking Fixes & Exploration Quality-of-Life

The September 2 official update (V1.0.15511) fixes five dishes that could not be made — including Stir-fried Mushrooms and Fresh Vegetable Salad — which can now be crafted by adding the corresponding ingredients plus any seasonings. Supplies looted from exploration instances now decay on the same timer as supplies at Home, so items no longer spoil the moment you bring them back. Weight values shown in the crusher and furniture details match your inventory, and the Hardware Store and Ruined Supermarket exploration points are now open 24/7.

September 4 Update: Fridge Weight Limits Removed & Radish Merge (V1.0.15690)

The September 4 official update (V1.0.15690) removes the weight limit on all refrigerator types — food ingredients stored in fridges are no longer restricted by weight, which makes the fridge the obvious home for bulky food stockpiles. It also merges Radish into Carrot: radishes in old save files convert automatically, and recipes that used radishes now draw from carrots instead. The update additionally adds the "Shield of the Street" defensive-support challenge (deploy Drones to lure besieging hordes to your Home after trading posts send distress messages) and a record-player "Single Loop" playback mode.

September 8-9 Updates: Recipe Restorations & Caffeine Coffee (V1.0.15876 / V1.0.15955)

The September 8 update’s development-legacy cleanup accidentally removed three recipes players actually used; the September 9 update (V1.0.15955) restores them in rebalanced form. Electronic Components return to the official crafting list as Plastic Sheet + Wire + Container (visible by default, craftable at Manufacturing Level 1). Playing Cards and Bandage are also added to the official list (visible by default, Manufacturing Level 1). The Live Trap keeps its existing official recipe (Waste Plastic + Sheet Metal ×2).

Coffee drinks become genuinely useful: player-crafted lattes, coffee, cappuccinos and honey coffee now grant a "Caffeine" effect — +8 hours of Movement Speed — and restore more Stamina, with the effect written into each item’s description. Drone Trading also gets an interaction fix (a drone that is out or has already traded today now produces a direct prompt instead of failed repeat orders).

September 17 Update: Item Logistics Fixes & Recipe Book Order (V1.0.16756)

The September 17 update (V1.0.16756) is mostly a fix pass, but three item behaviours change in ways worth knowing. Rush-purchase items no longer disappear into a full backpack — anything that does not fit now drops on the ground, so leave space before setting out instead of losing the goods. Donation-panel satiety values for some Food used to read lower than the real value; they now match what the storage shows, so you can trust the numbers when deciding what to give away. And the comb and the luxury mechanical watch can no longer bypass their once-a-day usage limit by repeatedly clicking with combination keys.

Two other changes touch item handling around the Home. A new prompt explains the trunk unloading — supplies sitting in the trunk are automatically moved into the shopping bags at the door when you return Home, which used to make them look lost. And the mouse cage and brewing barrel panels no longer jump in size when you switch backpack tabs or when their text refreshes. The same patch also fixes the “Clear Mold” quest on saves where the mold had spawned inside hidden Containers (loading an affected save auto-completes it) and keeps recipes from shifting position in the Recipe Book after cooking.

September 12 Update: Rotten Meat Composting & Defense Tag Storage (V1.0.16363)

Rotten meat finally has a second use. Rotten meat strips, chunks and slabs can now be placed in compost bins, where they turn into basic fertilizer after some time — a real return on food that used to be pure waste. The storage Furniture "Defense" tag can now also quick-store low-quality and high-quality molotov cocktails next to your spikes and traps, and Disinfectant Spray stored in any Container at Home (cardboard boxes, shelves, metal cabinets) now counts toward disinfection instead of only the spray sitting in your backpack.

The same update adds a second Drone for the College Student — a mid-game side quest at the Abandoned School recovers an old teaching Drone that can be repaired at Home (see the walkthrough) — and fixes several persistent item-logistics bugs: with multiple Drones at Home the trading, donation and delivery panels no longer read the wrong Drone’s cargo hold, the cargo-hold panel no longer claims "not enough space" while hiding leftover items from a previous trip, and the "Deliver Supplies" button is grayed out with a reason while a Drone is busy.

Materials: Crafting Essentials

Reinforced Components are used for advanced barricades and generator repairs. Electronic parts power drones and electric traps. specific material items (unconfirmed details) are common crafting materials. Disinfectant Spray cleans wounds and reduces infection risk.

The 8/17 patch raised the trading value of Advanced Materials (refined Sheet Metal, iron rods, iron components) to match the materials consumed crafting them, making them more worthwhile to trade or sell.

The 8/18 patch added a Shredder furniture recipe that breaks Advanced Materials down into lower-tier materials when powered, queueing items one by one and storing the results in the collection bin. Waste from eating or using items directly from storage furniture now goes into your backpack first, keeping shelves clean.

Packaging materials (e.g., boxes) can be returned for small bonuses — but not confirmed. The "Ready for Anything" achievement requires 4+ material types in stock. Materials are heavy; manage your stockpile weight.

Furniture: Storage and Utility

Storage furniture is vital for the "Inventory Check" achievement: 8 pieces of storage furniture plus 1,200 satiety and 180 items. The Tool Cabinet (80 slots) was added in patch 8/14, expanding your crafting inventory. Beds restore Stamina fully after sleep (confirmed patch 8/14).

Potted plants are decorative but count toward "Green Thumb." A fridge (cooking level 2) allows advanced recipes. AC and heating units keep the safehouse temperature comfortable, but their stats are unconfirmed.

Heater (new, patch 8/23): a fuel-burning stove that can be crafted with Sheet Metal and Wire. After a cold-wave warning, an event reminds you to set it up before the temperature drops.

Electric Oven (craftable now, patch 8/23): the new planning card "Slow Roast and Fine Bake" unlocks the Electric Oven crafting recipe (Sheet Metal, Electronic Components and tempered glass). Previously Electric Ovens could only be bought from pre-disaster renovation companies; now you can craft them yourself post-disaster.

Furniture Tactics

Place furniture strategically to maximize floor space. The "Inventory Check" progression is the main end-game goal. You can also craft a brewing barrel and vase (patch 8/15 fix) — both are decorative but add variety.

Tools: Crowbar, Bags, and Traps

The Crowbar (unlocked via rescue storyline) opens locked doors and containers. Shopping bags increase carry capacity — useful for hoarding trips. A mouse cage/rat trap (patch 8/15 fix) is a tool for catching rats (Rat Catcher achievement).

Tools have durability? Official sources do not clarify, so we mark as TBD. Some tools are mission-specific — the Crowbar is tied to the rescue questline.

Defense Items: Spikes, Nets, and Chainsaws

Defense items include spikes, electric nets, and chainsaws. Place them around doors/windows to repel hordes. The "Triple Defense" achievement requires 4 spikes + 4 electric nets + 4 chainsaws. Door/window upgrades (iron bars) are separate — maxing them earns "Iron Wall."

Vases and brewing barrels are not defensive — they are furniture. But the "Zero Breach" achievement (no door damage on final horde) requires max defensive upgrades. The final horde hits on Day 87.

Storage Rules and Inventory Check

The "Inventory Check" achievement needs 1,200 satiety, 180 items, and 8 storage furniture. Use the resource search panel (patch 8/13) to find specific items fast. Right-click transfer (also patch 8/13) moves items between storage and inventory.

Stockpile weight milestones affect movement — keep under 50 kg for "Doomsday Tycoon." The Loot Spotter system helps you see items on the ground, but its upgrade path is unconfirmed.

How to Find Items Faster

Use the resource search panel to filter by item family, spoilage, or storage location. Right-click any item in your inventory to send it to a specific container. The "Relaxed" auto slow-down (patch 8/15) gives you extra time to sort.

Exploration sites (ruined supermarket, abandoned school) yield rare loot. Drones can scavenge up to 50 runs — required for "Aerial Scavenging." Trading points (8 total) let you exchange items; the 8/18 patch added 32 new purchasable items across multiple posts. Trading posts now buy their main-category supplies at half price and no longer purchase items currently being sold on their own shelves.

Items and the Stockpile Milestones

Your item families line up with the three stockpile weight milestones tracked by the official achievements. The Prepper achievement (5 kg) is the first functional threshold — a minimal survival loop of food, materials and one or two tools. Fine Haul (25 kg) is where redundancy starts to matter: enough food variety to cook different meals, and enough materials to repair what the first horde damages. Doomsday Tycoon (50 kg) is the endgame hoard — every family represented, with storage furniture (including the 80-slot Tool Cabinet) holding the weight.

The Inventory Check achievement defines the same idea in three numbers: Satiety 1,200 stored at home, Items 180 stored slots, and 8 storage furniture pieces placed. Food types feed the satiety number, materials and tools fill item slots, and storage furniture — cabinets, shelves, the Tool Cabinet, the Cardboard Box — raises the cap. That is the verified link between the items page and the stockpile page; specific per-item prices remain TBD because the developer has not published a price list.
